Compliance tools for India exporters of children’s products
India’s BIS / domestic rules are not a substitute for destination-market certificates. U.S. buyers need a CPC in the importer’s name; UK/EU buyers need EN 71 evidence and a Declaration of Conformity. Prepare the destination stack, not only local paperwork.
Who this is for
Indian toy, textile, and kids’-product exporters, merchant exporters, and their overseas brand clients.
What you must have on file
- Destination-lab testing (CPSC-accepted for USA; EN 71 for UK/EU)
- Clear SKU/BOM control so reports match shipped goods
- Buyer-ready document pack: report + certificate/DoC + labeling artwork
- Tracking labels / CE marks printed correctly before export
Where sellers in India → USA / UK / EU get stuck
- Sending only BIS documents to a U.S. Amazon seller
- One lab report reused for colourways that changed
- Certificates naming the factory when the buyer must be the certifier

Questions sellers ask
Does BIS certification replace a CPC?
No. BIS supports Indian domestic requirements. Amazon USA still needs CPSIA testing and a CPC from the U.S. certifying party.
