What Amazon asks for, and where
Requests arrive in Seller Central under the Manage Your Compliance dashboard and in Account Health notifications. For each ASIN classified as a children’s product, Amazon typically asks for the CPC and the underlying test report. The product detail page can be deactivated while the request is open.
The annual toy re-validation rule
Since September 3, 2025, Amazon requires toy listings to complete testing or document validation on a yearly cycle through its approved TIC (testing, inspection, certification) firms, which include SGS, Intertek, Eurofins, TUV, Bureau Veritas, and QIMA. Sellers are notified in waves ahead of the Q4 toy season, with a cure window to upload documents before listings are removed.
How to stay ahead of the waves
- Keep one current test report per product (or certified-identical group) and issue a CPC from it.
- Store the CPC, the report, and the test date together: the vault pairs them automatically.
- Watch Account Health weekly in August and September, when enforcement waves hit.
- Regenerate the certificate whenever the product, factory, or components change.
Questions people ask
Does Amazon accept a CPC from my supplier?
Amazon accepts the CPC document, but the certificate must be issued by the importer or US domestic manufacturer: that is you, not your factory. Supplier test reports can support the CPC only if they come from a CPSC-accepted lab and match your exact product.
How long does Amazon take to review a CPC?
Reviews are usually automated but can take several days, and compliance teams sometimes ask for more documents. Submit early: do not wait for a suspension to prepare your certificate.
What if my listing is already suppressed for a missing CPC?
Fix the document first. Generate a proper CPC from current test data, upload it through Manage Your Compliance, and reply to the notification. Repeated or late responses put the account at risk.
Do I need a CPC for every color and size?
Certificates can cover products that are identical in design and materials. If a variation changes materials or components, it needs its own testing. Confirm scope with your lab.
