Age grading drives everything
The same artwork sold as an under-3 peg puzzle and as an 8+ jigsaw has two very different test plans. Decide the age grade before testing, print it on the box, and certify to it: changing the claimed age after testing usually means re-testing.
Questions people ask
Do 1000-piece jigsaws for adults need a CPC?
Adult jigsaw puzzles are not children’s products and generally need no CPC. Children’s jigsaws do.
My toddler puzzle pieces passed, but the box warns 3+. Is that OK?
Age grading must match the design and marketing. A puzzle designed for toddlers cannot be made compliant with an older age label alone.
Are puzzle glue sheets a chemical concern?
Adhesives are materials: include them in the material list for the lab, especially for toddler products that get mouthed.
